Usain Bolt-The Running Machine

No one in the history of athletics has ever created more revelation than the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt. The Jamaican once again created history as he became the first ever athlete to clock 9.58 seconds in the 100-meter dash of the Berlin World Championships and thereby smashing his previous record by .11 seconds set during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He also broke his previous 200-meter record, finishing with a time of 19.19 seconds. Words cannot describe the talent of Bolt who has raised the bar significantly for the other athletes competing with him. There’s no doubt that Bolt still has that strength and passion left in him which could very well serve as a motivating factor to achieve new heights and reach the pinnacle of glory . It will be high time before anyone comes close to beating the world record set by Bolt. So let us hope that this running machine never stops and hence continue to create many more records with the stunning sprint.

Spain wins consecutive Davis Cup Titles

Spain continued to dominate the world tennis after successfully defending their Davis cup title by defeating Czech Republic by a convincing 5-0 margin. By winning the Davis Cup 2009 Spain became the first team since Sweden in 1998 to defend the coveted title. Last year Argentina gave a tough fight to the Spanish team. But this time around Czech Republic was no match to the mighty Spaniards, as they were thrashed in a one-sided 5-0 whitewash. Spaniards came out firing with all guns blazing as Nadal won the first singles encounter in straight sets, but the major turning point came in the second match when David Ferrer won a thrilling five setter against a determined Radek Stepanek. This win gave the team a huge boost in confidence. From there on, it was Spain all the way that made Czech taste the humble pie. Spain can very well continue their dominance in tennis as they are blessed with young and talented individuals like Verdasco, Nadal, Ferrer and Lopez who could storm the opponents with a brilliant performance. They also have very good bench strength in case of injuries. So it could be interesting to see which team will overpower this young Spanish team in the next Davis Cup.
