Roger Federer Back On Top

2009 was termed to be the end of Federer era and beginning of Nadal’s era. But at the end of 2009 it was once again proved that no one can count out Roger Federer who dominated all the four major tennis grand slams by winning two of them and losing the other two in an epic five setter. 2009 was a special year for Federer as he won his first ever French Open after being denied for the past three years in the final by his all-time nemesis Rafael Nadal. By winning the Roland Garros he joined an elite group of players who clinched all the four major grand slams. It was Roger’s ‘Never Say Die’ attitude that made him come back strongly after a poor start to the 2009 season. The Swiss ace even managed to get back his world No.1 status in the ATP rankings after losing it to his arch rival Nadal in 2008. If Federer starts to play the brand of great tennis which he used to play a couple of years ago, it will be very tough for his opponents to claim the top spot in the world tennis for at least the time being.
